DIY Macrame Flower Planter

Although it seems like winter is here to stay (at least in some parts of the country), spring is just around the corner and that means it’s finally time to whip out your lighter clothing, bring your gardening tools and spring decorations out of storage and get back into your outdoor hobbies such as gardening!

DIY Macrame Flower Planter

When I think of spring, I think about macramé planters and how beautiful they look hanging. For this following project, I have re-created a macramé style planter using recycled cans you can use from your pantry.

  • Recycled Cans
  • Fresh Flowers
  • Scissors, Hot Glue
  • Leather String (Can be found in a roll at Hobby Lobby or JoAnn’s)

Wrap the leather string around the edge of the can placing the excess strand of string to the side and add hot glue where both straps connect. (Repeat steps on the other side of the can.)

To secure the planter, simply use a thumb tack or tie a knot and place a hook at the ceiling.

Flowers for me are the finishing touch to a great productive day so I’m always looking for ideas to hang or display flowers, sit back and enjoy the rest of my day. Happy Spring thoughts!

How do you creatively display your flowers at home or at work?
