Three Inexpensive Ways to Have Family Fun This Summer

Jun 04, 2015

Keeping the family busy this summer can become expensive if you’re doing a lot of outings. Theme parks and restaurants are great on occasion, but there are several ways you can find entertainment in your own community (or backyard!). Here are three ideas to help get your summer plans started:

1.    Check out the schedule and events page of your local park, library, community center or city office. Often times, cities will host free movies, work-out classes or famers markets that are family-friendly. You can pack a dinner, grab a blanket or chairs and head out for an entire night of entertainment.

2.    Host your very own backyard campout. Camping is an adventure, even if it’s right outside of your back door. Set up a tent, grab some OFF!® Familycare Insect Repellent, pack some snacks, make s’mores, and tell scary stories for a great night and loads of family memories!

3.    Gather your local friends and host a neighborhood Olympics event. This might take a little extra coordination but it’s a great way to get the entire neighborhood outside and involved. Include activities such as a scavenger hunt, water balloon fight, mini relay race and dodgeball game to name a few. If you have a teen in your house, it’s also something they can lead the charge with!

What other inexpensive activities do you want to try this summer with your family?
