Best Packing Tips

When going on vacation, one of the most important preparation steps is packing. Many people have different theories on the best way to pack for a trip, but the most important thing to think about is where you are going and how you will be getting there. Whether you are the type of person that packs too little or too much, here are a few tips that will help to ease the stress of prepping for a trip!

General Packing Tips

•    Put shoes at the bottom of the suitcase and stuff with socks or underwear. Putting shoes on the bottom protects your clothes from any dirt on your shoes, and stuffing the shoes with socks and underwear saves space.

•    Roll workout clothes and pants. Not only does this decrease wrinkles in the pants, it also saves space!

•    Wear heavier coats and shoes during route to trip. This will save you from having to pull or carry a very heavy suitcase.

•    Pack what you need most on top. This may mean swimsuits, a change of clothes, or maybe even pajamas, depending on your destination and travel time.

•    Know if you will be able to do laundry. If a washer and/or dryer are available on your vacation, this will allow you to pack less as you can wash and re-wear clothing – saving you lots of room in your suitcase.

When Traveling by Air

•    Don’t forget to only pack liquids that are smaller than 3.4 ounces and store all liquids in clear Ziploc® Brand Slider Storage and Freezer Bags with the Smart Zip® Seal, in case of leakage.

•    Pay attention to weight requirements and number of bags allowed for each passenger.

•    Pack extra underwear/socks/necessities in your carry-on. You will be grateful for doing this if your luggage gets lost!

Specifically for Women

•    Choose outfits that can easily be accessorized. This way, you can wear one outfit in multiple different ways just by switching up your jewelry.

•    Use separate Ziploc® Brand Sandwich Bags to store jewelry, chargers, medicine and makeup. This will help you find items quickly when you need them and prevent your from having to rummage through the bottom of your purse.

Specifically for Men

•    When packing a suit or dress coat, pull the sleeves inside out and put one shoulder inside the other. This will save lots of room and help to protect the coat from wrinkles.
