I’ve been working out with a personal trainer for the past two months and it was during one of my post-workout visits to the café in our gym that I discovered my new favorite smoothie combination. The café has a long list of ingredients to choose from, so I just picked a few flavors that sounded good and the result was absolutely divine – pineapple, mango and fresh ginger.

Pineapple, Mango and Ginger Smoothie

Prep: 10 minutes
Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk
1/2 cup frozen pineapple
1/2 cup frozen mango
2 slices of fresh ginger
1 scoop of your favorite protein powder

Directions

Combine all of the ingredients in your blender and mix until your smoothie is a well blended. Pour into a tall, cold glass and serve immediately.

The great thing about this smoothie is that it includes ginger. Ginger not only adds a bit of flavor punch to this tropical smoothie, it also comes with a bevy of health benefits. Ginger helps settle an upset stomach, which I usually have after a strenuous workout, and it is known for its anti-inflammatory effects. These two benefits make ginger the perfect addition to a post-workout smoothie.

What’s your favorite smoothie combination?
