Homemade Bubble Bath

January 8 is “Bubble Bath Day.” Yes, it’s an odd thing to celebrate, but I decided to embrace the idea and create a new batch of homemade bubble bath in honor of this unusual holiday. When my kids were little they loved to take bubble baths. Rather than spending money on new bottles of bubble bath, after a little research I discovered that making homemade bubble bath is easy – and kids love it.

Homemade Bubble Bath

Ingredients

1 cup liquid castile soap
1/2 cup almond oil
1/2 cup honey
1 tbsp. vanilla extract
2 tsp. essential oil

Directions

Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl and stir well.

Store in an airtight Ziploc® Brand Container in a cool, dry place.

Tips

Use your favorite essential oil; I like to use a blend of tea tree oil and lavender as we love the scent of tea tree oil and the relaxing effects of lavender.

Pour about 1/4 cup of the bubble bath directly into the running bath water.

Do not expect a bath full of large, long-lasting bubbles (homemade bubble bath liquid doesn’t have surfactants, which cause those picture worthy bubbles you see in commercials).

Have you ever made your own bubble bath?
