Photo Display Ideas for Your Next Party

Planning a party? If you want to add a thoughtful and personal touch to your next gathering, think about incorporating personal photos into your party décor. You can incorporate photos of the guest(s) of honor, making the party feel intimate and personal. I also love the idea of incorporating photos of close family and friends throughout your party space. This is especially meaningful for weddings, anniversary parties, family reunions and holiday gatherings.

Here are three ways to incorporate photos into your next party.

Hang as a garland. Print, or gather, a few dozen photos of different sizes and simply attach them to a piece of twine using clothespins (paper clips also work well). Hang the string of photos in a prominent place so guests can enjoy looking at them. You can also ask guests to bring their favorite photos of the guests of honor and add them to the string as they arrive.

Display in frames. This idea is great if you are entertaining in your home. I like to swap out the photos in the frames on my mantle so that they include the guests of honor. If you don’t have the right sizes on hand for your frames, it’s easy and inexpensive to send some photos off to your local print center. Displaying 6-10 photos in a row can make a big impact in your space. If you’re hosting a birthday party, it’s nice to show pictures of the birthday person over the years. Or, if an anniversary, show photos of the couple throughout the years.

Attach to balloons. This idea is a little more playful, but also really special. Attach smaller photos (4x6” prints work well) to the bottom of a helium balloon string. The balloon should be floating on the ceiling with the string hanging down. Simply attach the photo to the end of the string using tape, a staple, or by punching a hole in the photo and tying the string through it. This is really fun because the photos begin to “float” around the room as the balloons move.

What other ways can you display images at a party?
