Valentine's Day Ideas for Couples

Looking for something new to do with your partner for Valentine’s Day this year? Instead of going out to an expensive dinner, or buying your loved one the classic, go-to gift of chocolates and long stem roses, try some of the below ideas. Having a wonderful date can be inexpensive, unique, fun, relaxing and simple with this list.

Valentine's Day Ideas for Couples

1.    After a week of running errands and working hard, we can all agree on one thing: a night of relaxation sounds delightful. Book a couples treatment at your favorite spa for an afternoon of leisure and some well-deserved quiet time with your loved one.

2.    With Valentine’s Day falling on a Saturday this year, take advantage of the weekend and have a picnic. If the weather is nice, host the picnic outdoors. If it’s too cold, though, set a blanket on your den floor and serve up some fresh fruit, wine, cheeses and chocolate.

3.    Cook some dinner together! Chat through and nail down your desired menu for the evening, go grocery shopping, turn on some tunes and start chopping your veggies and spicing your dish.

4.    Once you’ve enjoyed your homemade creation, relax in the comfort of your own home. Set the mood with the Glade® Blooming Peony & Cherry™ candle, pop in your favorite DVD and snuggle up with a cozy blanket.

5.    Instead of going out and spending money on gift cards for dinner or a massage, create a coupon book designated for each activity. Include a coupon for a foot massage, one homemade dinner, a wine run and a baked good -- setting expiration dates for each. Then, tell your loved one to start redeeming before it’s too late!

6.    Rent a romantic movie or invest some time in reading a new book. Discuss your options and narrow them down to one that you both agree on. Read up to a certain chapter and then take a few moments to discuss your predictions and thoughts. This may be a quiet and low-key idea, but you’d be surprised by how much you connect and learn about one another.

7.    Loosen up the evening by going dancing at your favorite club or taking a dance lesson. You can find many inexpensive options, such as a salsa or ballroom class, at local discount sites. Your partner may be hesitant to go at first, but once you start moving you’ll both be happy you tried something new.

8.    Create a dessert bar featuring your partner’s favorite desserts! This sweet treat is sure to satisfy a sweet tooth of any range. Customize the dessert bar to include your loved ones favorite sweets such as ice cream sundaes, cookies, s’mores or fruits and chocolate fondue. You can even go the extra mile and include their favorite sweet drink and candy selection.

9.    Head to your local museum or art exhibit for a low-key date night. Enjoy some wine and a cheese platter at home before heading out for the night.

10.    Get out and do something active. Go ice skating or mini golfing, take a yoga class, play some tennis, go hiking at your local park, or ride your bikes around the city. If it’s too cold, head to an indoor pool or amusement park!
