These organic chocolate covered pretzels are a perfect treat for a class Valentine's Day party. Simply package these treats in Ziploc® Brand Snack Bags to give to friends or classmates. A great idea is to also include a cute V-day note – which is a great opportunity to remind recipients that Ziploc® Brand Bags are recyclable! You can also load some of these delicious pretzels into a Ziploc® Brand Container with a bow, or other simple decoration, for a great DIY teacher gift.

Valentine's Day Organic Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Ingredients

1 bag of organic pretzels - you can also use classic pretzels, rod, or bites
2 cups of organic or fair trade milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or white chocolate (or all three if you want to make an assortment). You can use chips or dice bars.
Red sprinkles
Parchment or wax paper
Cookie sheet

Instructions

Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or a heatproof bowl placed on top of a pot of simmering water over medium heat making sure to stir constantly to ensure the chocolate is very smooth. Once melted, make sure to turn off the stove. The warm water will help keep the chocolate in a melted state without burning.

Now is where you can really get creative! Dip the pretzel in the desired amount of chocolate and lay it on a cookie sheet covered in wax paper. If you melted multiple kinds of chocolate, now would be a good time to drizzle that on.

Before the chocolate dries, decorate with your choice of sprinkles—I suggest red to stick with the Valentine’s Day theme.

Allow the chocolate to harden and store in Ziploc® Brand Bags. Stash your finished pretzels in the refrigerator, if possible, until eating or gifting.Do you like making special treats for the holidays?
