Students at graduation

As the end of the school year approaches, many parents’ hearts are filling with pride, joy and sadness as their children prepare to graduate from high school or college. Often choosing the right gift can be tricky, so here are some green graduation gift ideas for your soon-to-be graduates who are enthusiastic about making a difference to the environment.

1. Eco-Friendly Charger

With all of us hooked on our mobile devices, a charger is an essential item for everyone. There are some really fabulous green chargers on the market that your graduate is sure to love. Look for eco-friendly chargers that automatically cut off when the electronic devide is done charging, instead of continuing to suck up electricity as most do. Some of these green chargers also feature surge protection and high speed charging.

2. Eco-Friendly Phone Speaker

We all love our music, and your graduate is sure to enjoy a fun green phone speaker. Some of my favorite options use solar power, ensuring that as long as the sun is shining the music will be bumping!

3. Eco-Friendly Journal

Journaling is a great way for your graduate to record their exciting journey ahead. You can choose a blank page journal for an artist, or a lined journal for a writer. I still cherish my college journal that I filled with quotes and artwork that spoke to me. There are so many wonderful eco-friendly choices using all sorts of alterative papers, from recycled paper, to banana paper to sugar cane paper and more!

4. A Handmade Card

You can make them a graduation card to remember! Try pressing flowers for a pretty touch or include wild flower seed paper so they can plant it themselves.

5. A Green Goody Basket

You can create a goody basket around any theme because most graduates will need just about everything for their journey ahead.  A basket of green office supplies, personal care or snacks will sure come in handy and they will appreciate your mindful selections.

I hope you find these green graduation gift ideas useful. Which green graduation gift is your favorite?
