4 Creative Ways to Spend Mother’s Day

Apr 26, 2016

Gifts can be great, but chances are the best Mother’s Day gift you can give (or receive!) will be the chance to spend time together. Last year, my husband and children planned an outing for the whole family, and it felt like the most special Mother’s Day ever. In that spirit, I’m sharing four creative places you could spend time together this Mother’s Day.

4 Creative Ways to Spend Mother’s Day

1.    Local botanical garden or flower fields. It’s the perfect season to get outdoors and see nature in bloom. Last year, my family took me to the local flower fields, and it was a delight for all the senses (see the photo above).

2.    Food tour. Check around to find a local food tour. It’s a great way to try out restaurants you may never heard of, and explore the nooks and crannies of your town. Better yet, it’s an activity and meal all in one!

3.    Painting class. There are studios popping up everywhere that offer a painting class for beginners. This could be a really fun activity to do as a family or small group. And at the end of it, you’ll all have your paintings as a memento of your day together.

4.    Nature hike. Look for easy to moderate trails in your neighborhood. Pack a lunch, water and some trail mix in a Ziploc® Brand Snack Bag, grab mom and go get some fresh air.

How do you plan on celebrating Mother’s Day?
