Make Fruit “Pizzas” For Breakfast

Summer calls for fun treats, right? That’s what inspired this easy breakfast idea! I was looking for a breakfast recipe that would feel fun and special but was still on the healthier side. I came up with the idea for this recipe while looking for an alternative to making donuts or cinnamon rolls (which my kids do love but aren’t the healthiest option). Thus, the fruit “pizza” was born.

Make them for breakfast and your kids will be grinning ear-to-ear. You can even get them involved in making their own. I like to put out different fruit options on the counter and let the kids add their favorite “toppings” to their mini pizzas. My daughter’s favorite toppings are strawberries and raspberries, and she loves to help me make them in the morning. I love how hands on she can be with this simple recipe and how excited she gets when it comes time to eat her masterpiece.

These would make a fun treat for a party or brunch because they are easy to make and look really beautiful displayed on a large platter. The different colors of fruit are a nice treat for the eyes as well. You can use whatever fruit is in season and make them in a variety of combinations. Let your imagination (and taste buds) run wild with this fun breakfast idea.

Fruit Pizza

Prep: 10 minutes
Yield: 4 servings (each serving size is two mini breakfast pizzas)


4 mini bagels, sliced in half to make 8 pizzas
8 tablespoons of cream cheese
Fruit of choice (we used sliced strawberries, sliced kiwi, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries)


Lightly toast mini bagels in toaster or toaster oven (if you prefer your bagels soft, skip this step).

Spread one tablespoon of cream cheese on top of each bagel half. Then, top cream cheese with fruit of choice. Serve and enjoy.
