Gold Hoops with flowers hanging on the wall

Summer is here, and that means we will be spending more time with friends and family. And I will be spending more time hosting parties — summertime brings out all of my most creative ideas, and I’m not letting them go to waste. What I’m loving right now is adding greenery to wooden hoops. It’s a simple, but bold and unique way to decorate for summer.

Embroidery hoops are so versatile. I’ve been thinking about how I could repurpose them for simple summer projects. It was easy to think of art pieces, like adding faux greenery and flowers to hoops to create a beautiful statement wall. Since embroidery hoops come in different sizes, you can alternate both size and colors in your finished project, and it’s a great way to display your favorite summer flowers.

To create your own embroidery hoops you will need the following basic materials:

 craft materials hoop flowers leaves

  • Wood embroidery hoops in various sizes from 5’ to 12' inches
  • Various greenery stems and sizes
  • Glue gun
  • Wire cutters
  • Faux flowers (optional)
  • Clear pushpins for hanging

The embroidery hoops come in two pieces; you can use both hoops to save time and money. Prior to starting your project, remove all greenery stems.

Hot glue each single greenery piece to the side or the back of the wood hoop, adding more as you go. You can also add faux flowers of your choice.

To attach to wall use clear pushpins.

After I finished my wall art, I didn’t want to stop creating with hoops, so I decided to put together a chandelier, which turned out really well! I plan on hanging it in my daughter’s room, and I know she will enjoy it as much as I do!

To make your own chandelier, simply follow the directions above to make floral hoops, and then hang them using decorative rope or fishing line. It’s a super easy project that looks amazing when you are finished!

To hang your own chandelier, use clear fishing line or decorative rope to connect each embroidery hoop to the next. I love using fishing line because it makes it look as if it is floating in air.

Don’t forget to have fun with it; your chandelier doesn’t have to be perfect!
