Blackberry Banana Spinach Smoothie 

Making smoothies at home is a great way to get some extra fruit and vegetables into your diet. Plus, by making them yourself you can control all the variables and know exactly what ingredients are being used. You can choose organic produce and plant-based milks instead of dairy to make your smoothie more eco-friendly. The banana makes the smoothie consistency thicker so that you don't have to add ice, which I like to avoid when it is cold outside. I hope you enjoy this delicious green smoothie recipe.

Blackberry Banana Spinach Smoothie Recipe

Prep: 4 minutes
Yield: 2 servings

Blackberry Banana Spinach Smoothie Ingredients 


1 banana (peel removed)
1 cup of spinach leaves, chopped
1/2 cup of blackberries or about 10 large blackberries
1 cup of milk (almond, soy, coconut, cashew, or dairy)
1 tablespoon of chia seeds (optional)
1 teaspoon of sugar (you may wish to add more to your taste)


Add all of the ingredients into the blender. Then, blend on high speed until smooth. Serve in fancy glasses if you want to make the smoothie seem like an extra special treat. I used an Aardvark paper straw in mine for some extra flare. Paper straws are a greener choice than plastic straws and they often have fun colors or designs.  

You can make endless variations on green smoothies and they’re a quick and easy way to get extra organic produce into your and your children’s diet.
