Keep Them Busy with a Nature Scavenger Hunt

Keeping your children busy during the summer months can be a challenge. Ward off the “I’m bored” complaints and encourage them to go outside to explore (rather than pick up the electronic device) with this simple scavenger hunt idea!

Armed with a key to use, they can find items in nature (even if it’s your own backyard) that match the print-out (which you can download below). You can even turn it into a team challenge or get the whole neighborhood involved!

If you have younger children who want to play, you can pair them up with an older buddy. Then, all you need is to print this fun scavenger hunt card (one for each child or team) and send them on their way with a pencil and a Ziploc® Brand Bag for collecting all of their treasures. They’re bound to get at least a little outdoor fun in with this nature-inspired challenge.

Download your scavenger hunt printable here. Feel free to add your own items to the sheet for a more personalized hunt.

My children absolutely loved this fun summertime activity! Were your children successful in finding all of the images on the printout? Did you add anything to the scavenger hunt list?
