According to world health authorities, each year mosquitoes contribute to the transmission of diseases affecting more than 500 million people worldwide. Malaria alone kills more than a million people each year, most of whom are children. Malaria, dengue, encephalitis, Lyme disease, West Nile virus and other insect-borne diseases have a tremendous impact, yet are preventable with simple steps and safety measures.
