When it comes to safety, our goal is perfection. And we’re working toward that. Our incident rates are half of what they were five years ago, a quarter of what they were 10 years ago and almost 10 times less than 15 years ago.

Relying on a dedicated team and employees around the world, our safety efforts help ensure that the company has global safety, health and environmental standards for our manufacturing facilities to create consistent and equivalent working conditions worldwide.

Audits Drive Compliance

As part of our safety commitment, every SC Johnson factory is audited at least once every five years. SC Johnson and external auditors review 74 criteria in nine key areas including employee safety, industrial hygiene, air/water and waste management, fire protection, emergency response planning and more.

Once an audit is complete, an SC Johnson operator responds immediately regarding what actions will be taken. All actions must be completed within 60 days except when capital spending requires more time. Importantly, audit issues and plans are presented four times a year to the company’s highest management team, to ensure progress continues to be made.

Altogether, SC Johnson has more than 50 guidelines and 40 training programs designed to support our safety, health and environment commitments and keep our people safe.
