Clean Your Whole House in Minutes | Family Economics
By Sarah Kimmel
When you have company coming over, and they are coming soon, you need to clean the entire house and FAST! It doesn’t have to be a huge project or undertaking, you can accomplish it in minutes if you follow this system.
Step One – Grab a trash bag and a plastic or cardboard box or bucket. Move through your entire house room by room and throw all the trash away and take any items that are in the wrong room and place them in the box. Misplaced items are things like cups in a bedroom or clothes in the living room. Throw the trash bag away and place the rest of the items in the room they belong in.
Step Two – Next hit the bedrooms and make the bed first. Pick up all of the clothes on the floor and put them in the laundry basket. In the kids rooms put all the toys in a toy box or the designated drawer/bin for the toy.
Step Three – Spot clean all the rooms including bathrooms and kitchen by dusting particularly dusty items, washing dirty spots on the walls, counters, and furniture, and then straighten any furniture that is out of place.
Step Four – Wash the windows and mirrors. The easiest and fastest way to do this is to take a sponge of soapy water and quickly scrub the window and then take a squeegee and wipe the soapy water away.
Step Five – Vacuum the house, including the kitchen (it is much faster than sweeping). Don’t forget to use the attachment to get under the cabinets and in the corners of the rooms.
At this point your house should be looking good enough for the company you were expecting, and you can sit down, relax, and enjoy time spent with friends and family!
