My Favorite Kid-Friendly St. Patrick's Day Drink Recipe | Family Economics
By Lori
March 17 is Saint Patrick's Day, or "Paddy's Day" as some folks call it, but I mostly know the holiday as the day to wear green so I don’t get pinched! As with any other holiday, I always enjoy making special treats to celebrate.
What I love about Saint Patrick’s Day is that I get to make this Green Grape Iceberg drink that is not only pretty to look at, but healthy and very tasty, making it truly green. And as an added bonus, this is extremely budget-friendly!
Green Grape Iceberg
Ingredients
You will need four ounces of Sparkling Water, four ounces White Grape Juice, 10 Green Grapes (frozen), a blender, and two drops of green food coloring.
Directions
1. Freeze green grapes
2. Pour grape juice into blender
3. Add 8 frozen grapes
4. Add 2 drops green food coloring
5. Blend for 15 seconds
6. Pour mixture into glass
7. Add sparkling water to taste
8. Stir and garnish with remaining grapes
I realize that many grownups may prefer a bit of Irish Whisky to celebrate Paddy’s Day, but I think it’s important to keep your kids in mind while still keeping with tradition.
What special things do you do to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day?
