Special Message Containers | Family Economics
By Cathe
For my 40th birthday, my husband hosted a lovely dinner party with many of my good friends. I wanted all the women there to know just how special each and every one was to me, so I created special friendship jar favors.
Each jar was labeled with their name and a sweet friendship poem. They were filled with strips of paper with special messages, memories or wishes just for them, handwritten on each. Some guests told me later that they read their entire jar of messages in one sitting, whereas others pulled from the jar daily or on occasion. All of my friends got to know just how much I cared for them with each note.
For Mother’s Day, I created a special message box for my mom. Within the box were notes, clippings, photos, mini-collages, and more – all the size of a standard business card – with very special messages of love and gratitude. I made another for my dad for Father’s Day. Each of those boxes are customizable for any occasion and can be found on my blog as free printables here and here.
Message containers can be crafted or purchased. It’s what you put inside that makes them extra special. They make great gifts for teachers, children, family and friends. The contents themselves can be as elaborate as you like or as simple as handwritten words on strips of plain paper.
Who would you make a special message container for?
