Get the Kids Involved with These Easy Party Favors | Family Economics

By Tori Tait

Hi, everyone! I’m Tori Tait, a new Guest Blogger for SC Johnson. For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a passion for party planning, DIY crafts and entertaining and I’m excited to share a few ideas with you! My goal is to inspire your inner hostess, whether you’re preparing for a fancy event, a family dinner or just looking for some lifestyle ideas and tips. I hope I can help you find the inspiration you need!

At our house, we like to give our guests a little something to take home after a party or event. A thoughtful favor can be easy to put together, and when matched with the party’s theme, offers the perfect touch to the event.

My two daughters, ages 6 and 12, get so excited when it comes time to plan and prepare for an event. I’ve learned setting aside a few specific tasks the girls can help with gives them a sense of pride when guests arrive.

Before your next party, gather your helpers, along with the following materials and start crafting your goodies today. With a little direction and supervision, these party favors are a great way to get your children involved and excited for an upcoming event!

easy party favors

Treats for guests
Ziploc® Brand Snack Bags
Patterned paper (you can find at craft store or use wrapping paper)
Tape or stapler
Small embellishments to match your party theme

1.    Fill your Ziploc® Brand Snack Bags with an assortment of treats. These can be anything from colorful candy, cookies or small fish crackers and popcorn with sprinkles, as shown in the picture above

2.    Once filled, zip your bag closed to help keep your treats fresh

3.    Gather your decorative paper and fold it over the top of the bag, securing it with tape or staples. If you choose to use staples, please assist your children with this step

4.    Add small embellishments, such as jewels, flowers or stickers to further decorate your favors. You can coordinate these to match your party colors or theme, if desired

There you have it! Easy party favors your kids can help create and be proud to hand out. What would you fill your favor bag with? Let’s share ideas!

This would make a simple gift for teachers too. With larger bags. I read this 2 days too late. Always next year.

Cool Idea! Another fun party favor is the TickleMe Plant Party Favor. In it anyone can grow the only house plant in the world that suddenly closes its leaves and lowers its branches when you Tickle It! Google It!
