Craft Idea: Button Bracelet | Family Economics

By Tori Tait

Looking for a fun craft to do with children? This button bracelet is easy enough for little ones to make and just as fun for older kids as well. Button bracelets can be made with almost any type of button and string. Getting creative is key – make them your own!

gather supplies

First, gather your supplies: Buttons and string. Here I am using embroidery thread. But almost any string will work (as long as it fits in your button holes).

loop strings through button holes

To make the bracelets, simply cut two pieces of string about 12-inches each. Loop the strings through each side of the button so that each string is in its own hole as shown above.

wearing button bracelets

When you’re ready to wear them, just place on wrist and secure by tying a simple bow. They can easily be taken off and re-worn. They work great as friendship bracelets, party favors and craft ideas for class!

How did you make these button bracelets your own? What creative touch did you add to them?
