Game Day Recipe: Honey Glazed Chicken Wings | Family Economics

Alison Lewis

Chicken wings have become a staple game day appetizer for adults and children alike. Although there are many variations of sauces that wings are made in, this recipe for Honey Glazed Chicken Wings is one of my favorites. These wings are easy to make and are a healthier option for wing-lovers as they are made with honey, cider vinegar and low-sodium soy sauce. Serve with blue cheese and/or ranch dressing, with a side of carrot and/or celery sticks, if desired. You can also prepare these wings a day in advance and store them in the fridge in a large Ziploc® Brand Container with the Smart Snap® Seal. Then, simply heat wings up prior to serving.

Prep: 15 minutes
Cook: 38 minutes
Yield: 4−6 servings

4 tablespoons butter, divided
1/4 cup honey
3 tablespoons cider vinegar
2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
2 pounds chicken wings
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.

In a small saucepan, combine 2 tablespoons butter, honey, vinegar and soy sauce. Bring to a boil; simmer 2 minutes or until slightly thickened. Set aside.

In a large bowl, combine wings, remaining butter, oil, paprika, and salt, mixing well. Place wings on a lightly greased baking sheet and bake 35 to 30 minutes, turning after 15 minutes. Remove from oven; heat oven to broil. Brush with glaze and broil, or grill, over medium heat for 4 minutes. Spring with sesame seeds and serve immediately.
