Wondering about your family's carbon impact and how you might be able to change it? We're happy to offer an easy-to-use way to find out, through a partnership with Conservation International.
The Conservation International carbon calculator, which you can launch at left, helps you determine your personal or family carbon emissions based on your home energy, vehicles, diet and more. Using the "Detailed" tab, you can get a thorough accounting of your impact.
Then, the calculator offers a chance to offset your impact by helping Conservation International protect tropical forests that contain some of the world's richest biological diversity and benefits critical to the well-being of local populations.
Lowering Your Impact
You can also click on "Lower Your Total" in the calculator to find suggestions on reducing your impact, such as buying energy-efficient appliances.
Plus, along with the suggestions from Conservation International, you can find more ways to lessen your impact here on the SC Johnson website. From using less water to enjoying more natural light, there's a lot you can do each an every day.
Why Conservation International?
SC Johnson has a long relationship with Conservation International, a global non-government organization working to foster responsible and sustainable care for nature, global biodiversity and the well-being of humanity.
Conservation International believes, and we agree, that every person on Earth deserves a healthy environment and the fundamental benefits that nature provides. That's why Conservation International is committed to helping societies adopt a more sustainable approach to development - on that considers and values nature at every turn.
In 2009, SC Johnson became a founding member of Conservation International's Team Earth, a worldwide sustainability effort uniting businesses, non-profit organizations, scientists, educators and individuals to address the most pressing environmental issues facing humanity. The first challenge the movement is tackling is climate change, and we're proud to be a part of it. Learn more at www.teamearth.com
