Acquisitions have been a key factor in SC Johnson’s success to-date. SC Johnson has acquired the following companies:
The Drackett Company
SC Johnson acquired The Drackett Company in 1992 and took ownership for the Windex®, Vanish® and Drano® brands.
Dowbrands
The company acquired Ziploc®, SaranTM and Scrubbing Bubbles® from Dowbrands in 1998.
Bayer
In 2003, SC Johnson completed the global acquisition of Bayer’s Household Insecticides business, including Baygon® insecticides and Autan® repellents, sold in the UK.
The Caldrea Company
SC Johnson acquired The Caldrea Company which includes the Caldrea and Mrs. Meyers Clean Day brands in 2008. While under the SC Johnson umbrella of ownership, The Caldrea Company is a stand-alone subsidiary, which means business as usual for both companies.

Fruits & Passion
In 2008, SC Johnson acquired Fruits & Passion, a privately-held Canadian company that manufactures and sells specialty personal care and home ambiance products. The company was founded in 1992 and functions as a stand-alone subsidiary of SC Johnson.
Soy Basics, LLC
SC Johnson acquired the leading manufacturer of soy-based candles in 2008. Soy Basics markets three brands: Beanpod Candles®, Soy Scentsations® and Soy Inspirations® and is a stand-alone subsidiary business, which means business as usual for both companies.
Jiangsu Tiongda, Co. Ltd
SC Johnson acquired Tiongda in 2008. Tiongda is a consumer products company that manufactures and markets products in China, including the Pest Rest® insect control and Aijia® air care and home cleaning brands.
