SC Johnson China Wins Walmart Sustainability Award


SC Johnson China Awarded ‘Best Sustainable Package’

RACINE, Wis., April 8, 2010 – Congratulations SC Johnson China! Walmart recently cited the subsidiary company with “Best Sustainable Package” at the 2010 Year Beginning Meeting. This award marks the third time that the subsidiary as been recognized by Walmart for being an innovator and leader in the consumer goods space.

“We’re extremely proud of the SC Johnson China team for winning the sustainability award,” says Steven Stanbrook, President – Developing Markets Platform. “Achieving this acknowledgement from such an important customer says a great deal about the good work being done there and, importantly, distinguishes SC Johnson from the competition.”

SC Johnson was the only vendor to win the award in the Consumer Goods Division. The award salutes the vendor that made a significant contribution in developing a package built around the two themes, “environmental sustainability” and “save money, live better.” SC Johnson's Mr. Muscle® and Raid® brands were included in the award recognition. Ed Chan, CEO of China Walmart, recognized SC Johnson China for the company’s overall sustainability initiatives and packaging revisions. Ed was recently named 2009 Low-Carbon Leader in China Forbes Magazine’s “People of the Year” program.
