Insect Repellent Donated to Help Residents Affected by Iowa Flooding

Racine, Wis., July 3, 2008 – In an effort to keep Iowans protected from mosquitoes that will result from standing water following the recent catastrophic floods, SC Johnson, the maker of OFF!®, has announced its donation of more than 23,500 DEET-based personal insect repellents to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank, a member of America’s Second Harvest – The Nation’s Food Bank Network.

“Standing water from the floods is the perfect breeding ground for unwanted mosquitoes that can carry disease,” said Kelly Semrau, SC Johnson Vice President of Global Public Affairs and Communication. “As a family company, we hope these products will allow Iowa families to focus on rebuilding their lives without constantly fighting mosquitoes.”

SC Johnson rushed OFF! ® FamilyCare Towelettes, OFF!® FamilyCare Tropical Fresh® and OFF!® FamilyCare Unscented to those who have been impacted by the recent severe weather conditions in Iowa. OFF!® donates approximately $200,000 in product and financial donations each year to help keep people protected from mosquitoes that may carry the West Nile Virus.
