SC Johnson to Contribute to Relief Efforts in Gulf Coast
SC Johnson Contributions to Help Hurricane and Tropical Storm Relief Efforts in the Gulf Coast
Racine, Wis., Sept. 16, 2008 – In an effort to keep residents protected from the effects of hurricanes and tropical storms this season, SC Johnson has announced its donation of approximately $75,000 in 2,600 cases of home cleaning supplies and DEET-based personal insect repellents to Feeding America, formerly America's Second Harvest. Feeding America will assist in distributing the products to communities in need across the nation. "We hope these cleaning supplies will assist families during the cleanup process ahead and the insect repellents help keep them protected from insects that may carry West Nile Virus or other diseases" said Kelly Semrau, SC Johnson Vice President of Global Public Affairs and Communication. SC Johnson rushed cases of OFF!®, Scrubbing Bubbles®, Windex® and Pledge® to victims of the recent severe weather conditions in the Gulf Coast area. SC Johnson has donated approximately $170 million in philanthropic contributions over the past 10 years. For more information, please visit www.scjohnson.com
