From Brenda in Texas about Boiling In Ziploc Brand Vacuum Freezer Bags

I know you can put the vacuum bags in the microwave but can you boil the vacuum bags in hot water? - Brenda From Texas

Hello Brenda from Texas – It’s good to hear from you.

Ziploc® Brand Vacuum Freezer Bags may be used for microwave defrosting only. When defrosting, though, always remember to leave the zipper on the bag open one inch to vent.

Caution: For use in microwave, place bag on a microwave safe dish. Handle with care as bag and contents may be hot. Do not overheat contents as bag may melt. Do not use in conventional ovens.

As it relates to your question about boiling in Ziploc® Brand Vacuum Freezer Bags, these bags are not designed to withstand the extreme heat of boiling. They should not be placed in boiling water.
