Hi Kathy from VA – You’ll be happy to hear that our OFF!® Clip-On does have an ON/OFF switch so you will be able to turn the device on and off as needed. The OFF button shuts off the fan and closes the vents of the device.

However, the OFF!® Clip-On is not designed to be used when you are in motion – like walking the dog. It is meant to be used for your relaxing summer moments like gardening, relaxing in the yard, watching outdoor sporting events, etc.

The reason is that turning the fan on circulates the repellent and provides you with head-to-toe protection within minutes. If you move about, you need to allow a few minutes for the unit to rebuild its protection.

When you do have a need for OFF!® Clip-On, remember the refill has a green use-up indicator that can help you know when the active ingredient is running low. You can also use “the rule of thumb” that you should replace the refill 14 days after opening or after 12 hours of total use.
