Creating Value at the
Base of the Pyramid
It's one thing to sell a $3.99 mildew remover to consumers who can easily afford the cost to make life a little easier.
It's a much tougher goal to bring disease-preventing pest control to people who earn less than $1,500 per year. Yet we at SC Johnson believe that's so important.
There are four billion people living at the lowest economic level around the world — what's known as the "base of the pyramid."
We're committed to not only serving these families, but helping create new value with them, through products, services and other opportunities for a better quality of life.
To that end, SC Johnson helped develop the Base of the Pyramid Protocol™, working with Cornell University's Base of the Pyramid Learning Laboratory.
We are now implementing the protocol in Nairobi, Kenya.
