Dollars That Make a Difference

At SC Johnson, we think it's not enough to invest simply in the R&D and marketing that builds our business. We're also committed to investing in the communities where we live and work.

Over the past 10 years, SC Johnson has given more than $160 million in philanthropic contributions. Contributions target a wide array of needs, within the following categories, including:

  • Community development — investments to revitalize neighborhoods and contribute to quality of life through organizations such as Habitat for Humanity
  • Community enrichment — helping environmental, health and welfare, and cultural organizations such as Conservation International
  • Education, youth and family — improving childhood development, strengthening families and supporting education through organizations like Junior Achievement

And philanthropy isn't just something we do as a company — it's a state of mind for our employees too. Our 2006 United Way campaign in the United States raised more than $892,000 from employees and retirees, with the company's dollar-for-dollar match resulting in nearly $1.8 million.
