Mini Holiday Trees | Family Economics

Angie Ramirez

The holidays are upon us and my kids are ecstatic. We love the holidays because we get to bake, decorate our three trees and craft ornaments. When it comes to crafting, I love to involve my daughter as much as I can. Using scraps of ribbon and wood sticks picked by my little girl; I taught her how to tie a ribbon as we crafted ornaments. These scrap ribbon tree ornaments are perfect to teach and practice tying skills. My little girl is at that stage where she wants to do everything herself, even tie her shoe laces.

Crafting these scrap ribbon tree ornaments was fun to make and I'm sure your kiddos will love to craft along.

What you will need:

•    Wood sticks (go for a walk to gather outside!)
•    Ribbon (ribbon scraps) in various colors or patterns
•    Scissors

1.    Begin by tying scraps of ribbon to the stick. Make sure they are tight.

2.    Cut and shape into a tree. Tighten any loose ribbon.
