SC Johnson Welcomes Public to Experience Exclusive Frank Lloyd Wright Architecture

Presenting Sponsor of the Chicago Architecture Biennial to Offer Free Tours and More

A new exhibit, titled On the Wright Trail, is the latest installment in The SC Johnson Gallery: At Home with Frank Lloyd Wright

Free-of-charge tours of SC Johnson’s new Frank Lloyd Wright exhibit take place from Sept. 16 through Jan. 7, 2018.

RACINE, Wis., Aug. 28, 2017 – SC Johnson announced that it will invite the public to join exclusive tours of its new Frank Lloyd Wright exhibit and other architectural attractions at its global headquarters in Racine, Wisconsin. The free-of-charge tours will take place from Sept. 16 through Jan. 7, 2018.

SC Johnson will partner with the Chicago Architecture Biennial for the second time to offer free bus tours from downtown Chicago to Racine. One major feature of the tour will be the new exhibit, titled On the Wright Trail, which is the latest installment in The SC Johnson Gallery: At Home with Frank Lloyd Wright. The exhibit opened in early June 2017 and features 26 miniature scale models of some of Wright’s greatest designs by retired Janesville, Wisconsin, architectural draftsman, Ron Olsen.

“The Frank Lloyd Wright-designed buildings on our campus are more than a place of work – they’re beacons of innovation and inspiration,” said Kelly Semrau, Senior Vice President – Global Corporate Affairs, Communication and Sustainability at SC Johnson. “We’re thrilled to have guests experience what these buildings mean to our company and celebrate Wright’s work that has transcended generations.”

SC Johnson’s global headquarters is home to two Frank Lloyd Wright-designed buildings – the Administration Building (opened in 1939) and the 15-story Research Tower (opened in 1950), where some of the company’s most iconic brands like Glade®, Pledge®, OFF!® and Raid® were developed. Both buildings are on the National Register of Historic Places. The two Wright-designed buildings are recognized for their beauty, practicality and futuristic design, which still seem ahead of their time today.

The Chicago Architecture Biennial is an international exhibit of contemporary architecture drawing participants from more than 30 countries. The Biennial features over 141 practitioners from around the world addressing the 2017 theme, “Make New History.”
