Teaming Up to Save the Ocean

SC Johnson and the Milwaukee Brewers Partner with Players for the Planet

With every Brewers save recorded this season, SC Johnson and the Brewers will make a donation to the Players for the Planet "Save the Ocean" program.

Researchers estimate that plastic waste will outweigh fish in the ocean by 2050. All of this plastic is doing irreparable damage to vital ocean ecosystems. At SC Johnson, we are committed to tackling plastic waste, and we are excited to share a new initiative as part of our broader global efforts.

Throughout the 2020 season, SC Johnson is teaming up with the Milwaukee Brewers, including pitchers Brent Suter and Corey Knebel, to help take on plastic waste. For each save recorded by a Brewers pitcher, SC Johnson and the Brewers will each donate $1,000 to the Players for the Planet “Save the Ocean” program.

Founded by Major League Baseball player Chris Dickerson, Players for the Planet is an organization of more than 75 professional athletes who are united in working to create a positive change for the environment.

As public health conditions allow, the resources donated by SC Johnson and the Brewers will help Players for the Planet host its third annual beach clean-up  sponsored by Major League Baseball, host additional beach clean-ups with Major League Baseball youth development programs and engage more than 1,500 youth in ocean conservation education in the Dominican Republic.

The goal is to collect and recycle 3,000 pounds of ocean-bound plastic waste through this partnership.
