Local Lifeguards Placed Second in Good Morning America’s Lifeguard Surf &Turf Showdown

RACINE, Wisc., July 31, 2015  -- SC Johnson will give a team of local lifeguards a lifesaver of their own today in recognition of their competitive spirit and for advancing to the semi-finals of Good Morning America’s Lifeguard Surf & Turf Showdown. The company will donate $10,000 to the Milwaukee County Lifeguard Corps.

“They may have come in second place, but they are number one in the hearts of Wisconsinites,” said Kelly Semrau, Senior Vice President, Global Corporate Affairs, Communication and Sustainability. “As a proud Wisconsin company, SC Johnson salutes this hard working team of lifeguards for their passion and their commitment to saving lives.”

Lifeguards across the country submitted their best "Shut Up and Dance" lip-synching videos earlier this summer to Good Morning America for a chance to compete to win $10,000. The Milwaukee County Lifeguard Corps, which is comprised of 230 lifeguards, sent in their video and was chosen as one of five semi-finalists.
