Racine Neighborhood Watch Receives OFF!® Donation From SC Johnson for National Night Out

Donation Aims to Prevent Mosquitoes from Taking a Bite Out of Community Celebration

SC Johnson donates 3,000 bottles of OFF!® to Racine Neighborhood Watch for National Night Out.
This is the 25th year National Night Out has been coordinated by Racine Neighborhood Watch.

RACINE, Wis., July 27, 2016 – SC Johnson announced today it will be donating 3,000 bottles of OFF!® spritzers to Racine Neighborhood Watch (RNW). The DEET-based personal repellents will be given to registered neighborhood event planners who are organizing National Night Out gatherings in Racine.  National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, better places to live.

“We hope everyone can participate in the National Night Out, and are happy to provide this donation that will help prevent mosquitoes from ruining the fun in Racine,” said Kelly M. Semrau, Senior Vice President – Global Corporate Affairs, Communication and Sustainability. “This is our home community and we’re pleased to support Racine Neighborhood Watch for this important community celebration.”

The OFF!® donations will be available to registered event planners when they pick up their National Night Out “goody bags” at the RNW office.  The August 2 celebration marks the 25th consecutive year National Night Out has been coordinated by RNW in Racine. “America’s Night Out Against Crime” is a summertime tradition enjoyed by more than 6000 local residents at more than 55 events. Festivities include block parties in neighborhoods and at parks, churches and community centers, cookouts, carnivals with visits from police, fire, sheriff and McGruff the Crime Dog.

This donation is part of SC Johnson’s commitment to donate at least $15 million over the next year to help protect against the mosquitoes that may carry diseases.

Today’s donation is the latest announcement in SC Johnson’s ongoing efforts to provide up to $15 million in resources globally to help protect against mosquitoes this year. To date, more than $7 million of OFF!®  products and financial donations have been provided to organizations to aid in mosquito protection around the world, especially those regions with high risk of Zika virus and dengue fever outbreaks.

SC Johnson is the world’s largest manufacturer of insect repellents and household insecticides, including OFF!®, Autan®, Raid® and Baygon®.
