Zika Action Day to Provide OFF!® Samples at Community Event in Puerto Rico

SC Johnson provides OFF!® personal repellent samples as part of U.S. CDC “Zika Action Day.”
SC Johnson has committed to donate at least $15 million to help protect against mosquitoes.

RACINE, Wis., June 30, 2016 — SC Johnson announced today it will be providing samples of OFF!® personal repellent as part of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) “Zika Action Day” to be held in Puerto Rico. This donation is part of SC Johnson’s commitment to donate at least $15 million over the next year to help protect against mosquitoes.

Zika Action Day is part of a Zika Virus Communication campaign by the CDC to increase knowledge and awareness of protection against the mosquito that may transmit the Zika virus.

The Zika Action Day activities will take place at the Home Depot store located in the Caguas-Las Catalinas Mall in Puerto Rico on Thursday, June 30, 2016. Hosted in a community health fair-type setting, booths will be onsite with experts from different companies providing information on mosquito protection, how to use personal repellents and how to protect your home from pests.

Today’s donation is the latest announcement in SC Johnson’s ongoing efforts to provide up to $15 million in resources globally to help protect against mosquitoes. The donations include aid to numerous countries that are experiencing outbreaks of Zika and dengue fever. In coordination with the CDC Foundation, SC Johnson supported the Zika Action Plan Summit held by the White House and the CDC on April 1, and also donated to the CDC’s Zika prevention kits. Additional donations have been made to the American Red Cross, the International Federation of the Red Cross, AmeriCares, the Rio de Janeiro-based Children’s Health Association and the County of Hawaii Civil Defense Agency.
